ब्रह्मा जी ने कहा हे नारद अब मैं उत्तर दिशा के प्रसिद्ध शिवलिंगों तथा तीर्थ का वर्णन करता हूं जिसके दर्शन मात्र से ही संपूर्ण पाप नष्ट होकर मनोरथ प्राप्त होते हैं उनका पूजन करने से कोई भी दुख विशेष नहीं रहता उनमें से एक तीर्थ पंच प्रयाग के नाम से प्रसिद्ध है वह स्थान स्नान करने से सब प्रकार के कष्ट तत्काल नष्ट हो जाते हैं देवप्रयाग में ललित केश्वर तथा देवेश्वर नाम के दो शिवलिंग है उसके उत्तर की ओर रुद्रप्रयाग में रुद्रेश्वर नमक शिवलिंग स्थित है जिनका पूजन करने से संपूर्ण पाप नष्ट हो जाते हैं वहीं कंकाल क्षेत्र में बागेश्वर नमक शिवलिंग स्थित है उसे लिंग की स्थापना दक्ष प्रजापति ने की थी बागेश्वर शिवलिंग की महिमा बहुत बड़ी है उनकी पूजा करने से किसी प्रकार का दोष और पाप नहीं रहता हे नारद दक्केश्वर के समिति सीताकुंड नाम प्रसिद्ध तीर्थ है जिसके ऊपर विपिलेश्वर नामक शिवलिंग स्थित है उसका पूजन करने से धर्म की वृद्धि होती है उसके 10 सन मात्र से ही मनुष्य शिवजी के समान हो जाता है दक्षेश्वर के स्वामी भी नील से एल के ऊपर नीलेश्वर नमक शिवलिंग है वह लिंग गंगा जी के तट पर स्थित है वस्तु वहां स्नान करने का बड़ा महत्व है वही भी चंडिका देवी का निवास है उसके निवास निकट भी एक उत्तम कुंड है जिसमें स्नान करने से अत्यंत आनंद प्राप्त होता है वहां आज तक संघ ध्वनि सुनाई पड़ती है परंतु पापी लोग उसको नहीं सुन सकते यह नारद पूर्व समय में संबंधित नामक एक ब्राह्मण बड़ा पापी था परंतु उसने किसी शिव भक्ति से उपदेश प्रकार शिव के नाम का तब किया तब शिवजी ने प्रसन्न होकर उसे अपना गण बना लिया और उनका नाम नील रखकर उसके द्वारा स्थापित शिवलिंग में विराजमान हुए वह लिंग दोनों लोक में हर्ष प्रदान करता है बिपलेश्वर शिवलिंग के समीप ही त्रिमूर्ति ईश्वर नमक शिवलिंग है वह रक्त जल नामक एक पवित्र तीर्थ है उसके समीप ही नंदीश्वर नमक शिवलिंग है वहीं शिव तीर्थ स्थित है जो मनुष्य शिव तीर्थ में स्नान करके नंदीश्वर लिंग का पूजन करता है उसे दोनों लोगों में आनंद मिलता है नंदेश्वर लिंग के समीप ही भद्रेश्वर नमक शिवलिंग है उनका पूजन करने से मनुष्य शिव जी का गण हो जाता है

Brahma Ji said, O Narada, now I will describe the famous Shivlings and pilgrimages of the north direction, by just seeing which all sins are destroyed and wishes are fulfilled. By worshipping them, no special sorrow remains. One of those pilgrimages is famous by the name of Panch Prayag. By taking a bath at that place, all kinds of troubles are destroyed immediately. There are two Shivlings named Lalit Keshwar and Deveshwar in Devprayag. Towards its north, in Rudraprayag, there is a Shivling named Rudreshwar, by worshipping which all sins are destroyed. At the same time, a Shivling named Bageshwar is located in the Kankal area. That ling was established by Daksh Prajapati. The glory of Bageshwar Shivling is very great. By worshipping it, no kind of fault or sin remains. O Narada, there is a famous pilgrimage named Sitakund near Dakeshwar, above which is a Shivling named Vipileshwar, by worshipping it, religion increases. By just 10 years of it, a man becomes like Lord Shiva. The lord of Daksheshwar is also a Shivling named Neeleshwar, above the Nile. That ling is situated on the banks of Ganga. Bathing there is of great importance. Chandika Devi also resides here. There is a great pond near her residence in which one gets immense pleasure by taking bath. The sound of Sangh can be heard there till date but the sinners cannot hear it. In the olden times, a Brahmin named Narad was a great sinner but he preached the name of Shiva to some Shiva devotee. Then Shiva was pleased and made him his Gana and named him Neel and sat in the Shivalinga established by him. That linga gives happiness in both the worlds. Near Bipaleshwar Shivalinga is a Shivalinga named Trimurti Ishwar. It is a holy pilgrimage called Rakt Jal. Near it is a Shivalinga named Nandishwar. Shiva Tirtha is situated there. The person who bathes in Shiva Tirtha and worships Nandishwar Linga, gets pleasure in both the worlds. Near Nandeshwar Linga is a Shivalinga named Bhadreshwar. By worshipping it, a person becomes a Gana of Shiva.
