ब्रह्मा जी बोले हे नारद अब मैं तुम्हें विपलाद अवतार के विषय में बताता हूं एक बार तीनों लोक में प्रसिद्ध मुनि दधीचि ने जिन्होंने इंद्र को युद्ध में परास्त किया था विष्णु जी तथा अन्य सब देवताओं को श्राप दिया तथा उसकी स्त्री सुवचन ने भी सब देवताओं को श्रापित करने में कोई संकोच नहीं किया उन्हें के विलापट नामक एक बालक उत्पन्न हुआ जिसे शिवजी का होता हर कहते हैं इतनी कथा सुनकर नारद जी बोले ही पिता आप सबसे पहले मुझे देवताओं को सुवचन द्वारा श्रापित करने का वृतांत सुनाएं इसके पश्चात बीपलाद के अवतार का वर्णन कीजिए ब्रह्मा जी ने कहा हे नारद जिस समय इंद्र वृत्त और से परास्त होकर देवताओं सहित हमारी शरण में आए उसे समय हमने देवताओं से यह कहा कि तुम सब लोग दधीचि के पास जाकर उनसे उसकी अस्थि मांगों तथा उन हड्डियों द्वारा एक बाजरा बनाकर इस बाजरा से वृत्त और का वध करो तुम्हारी सहायता शिवजी करेंगे देवताओं ने यह सुनकर दादी जी के पास जाकर हड्डियां मंगाई नदी जी ने तुरंत ही अपनी हड्डियां दे दी तथा स्वयं शिवलोक को पधारे सब देवताओं ने उन्हें हड्डियों से विश्वकर्मा के द्वारा बाजार बनवाया तथा इंद्र ने इस बज से वृत्त और का वध किया वृत्त और के वध से सब लोग प्रसन्न हुए जब यह हाल दधीचि को स्त्री सुविचार को ज्ञात हुआ तो उसने अत्यंत चिंतित हो अपने प्रतिवर्ता धर्म का तेज दिखलाया और देवताओं को पुत्र हैं होने का श्राप दिया तदुपरांत जब सुविचार ने सती होने की इच्छा की इस समय आकाशवाणी ने उन्हें रोक दिया तब आकाशवाणी की आज के अनुसार सुविचार ने पीपल की जड़ में बैठकर अपने कोई स्थिर किया इतने में ही इस वृक्ष के नीचे एक बालक उत्पन्न हुआ वह बालक शिवजी का अवतार था उसे बालक के चारों ओर कांति फैली हुई थी उसे बालक को देखकर सुविचार अपने सब दुखों को भूल गई फिर वह उसे बालक को शिवजी का अवतार समझ कर स्तुति करते हुए बोली है प्रभु आप मेरे शौक को दूर करें आप पीपल के वृक्ष के नीचे निवास करेंगे तथा सदैव प्रसन्न रहेंगे तब आप मुझे यह आज्ञा दें कि मैं भी अपने पति के पास उनके लोग को चली जाऊं और वही पति के साथ रहकर आपका ध्यान किया करूं

Brahma Ji said, O Narada, now I will tell you about the Vipalad avatar. Once, the famous sage Dadhichi of the three worlds, who had defeated Indra in the war, cursed Vishnu Ji and all other gods. His wife Suvachan also did not hesitate in cursing all the gods. A child named Vilapat was born to them, who is said to be the son of Lord Shiva. Hearing this, Narada Ji said, father, first of all you tell me the story of cursing the gods by Suvachan, after this describe the Vipalad avatar. Brahma Ji said, O Narada, when Indra came to our refuge along with the gods after being defeated by Vritra and then we told the gods that you all should go to Dadhichi and ask for his bones, make a millet from those bones and kill Vritra and with this millet, Lord Shiva will help you. Hearing this, the gods went to Dadhichi and asked for the bones. Nadi Ji immediately gave her bones and herself went to Shivlok. All the gods got a market made for them from the bones by Vishwakarma. Indra killed Vritra and Vritra with this bang. Everyone was happy with the killing of Vritra and Vritra. When Dadhichi's wife Suvichar came to know about this, she became very worried and showed the power of her vengeance and cursed the gods to have no sons. Thereafter, when Suvichar wished to become a Sati, at that time the voice from the sky stopped her. Then, according to the voice from the sky, Suvichar sat at the root of the Peepal tree and fixed his feet. Meanwhile, a child was born under this tree. That child was the incarnation of Lord Shiva. There was radiance spread around the child. Seeing the child, Suvichar forgot all her sorrows. Then, considering the child to be the incarnation of Lord Shiva, she praised him and said, "Prabhu, please remove my sorrow. You will reside under the Peepal tree and will always be happy. Then, please give me this order that I too should go to my husband and his people and stay there with my husband and meditate on you."
