ब्रह्मा जी ने कहा हे नारद अब मैं तुमको शिव के विश्वेश्वर अवतार के विषय में बताता हूं एक बार देवता तथा दतिया ने मिलकर समुद्र मंथन किया तथा विष्णु जी की युक्ति के अनुसार सबरत्न समुद्र से निकाल लिए विष्णु जी ने लक्ष्मी को स्टुवक ब्राह्मणी तथा शाही नमक धनुष लिए सूर्य ने ऊंचे स्राव घोड़ा प्राप्त किया इंद्र ने कल्पवृक्ष तथा ऐरावत हाथी लिया व्यक्तियों ने मांग लिया शिवजी ने कालकूट 20 तथा चंद्रमा प्राप्त किया इसके पश्चात सब धनवंतरी अपने हाथ में अमृत लिए निकले तो वह अमृत डेटियों ने छीन लिया उसे समय शब्द देवताओं ने विष्णु जी से पुकार की तब विष्णु जी ने स्त्री का रूप धारण कर अपनी माया से देवताओं को यह अमृत पिला दिया धनवंतरी कुवैत आरोग्य की रक्षा करने तथा वैदिक विद्या में बहुत प्रवीण हुए जो स्त्री रत्न थी उन्हें दैत्य ने उनके लड़कियों सहित ले जाकर पाताल में रखा तदुपरांत उन्होंने देवताओं से भली भांति युद्ध किया परंतु देवताओं ने परास्त होकर हुए सब उनके भाई से पाताल में जाकर रहने लगे फिर विष्णु जी उनका पीछा करते हुए उनके लोग में जहां पहुंचे तथा वहां उन स्त्रियों को देखकर मोहित हो गए और उन्होंने साथ बिहार करके वहीं रह गए इस प्रकार वहां पर विष्णु जी के बहुत से पुत्र उत्पन्न हुए बड़े होकर हुए बालक पटल से निकलकर सब देवताओं आदि को दुख पहुंचने लगे जब देवताओं के कहने से मैंने सब देवताओं को साथ लेकर शिवजी के पास स्तुति की और उसकी प्रार्थना की हे प्रभु विष्णु जी ने पाताल में जाकर अनेक स्त्रियों से बिहार कर बहुत से लड़के उत्पन्न किए हैं हुए वहीं रह भी गए हैं तथा अपने लोग को लौट कर नहीं आते हैं और विष्णु जी के वे सब लड़के अत्यंत बलशाली होकर चारों ओर उपद्रव मचाते फिरते हैं हे नारद शिवजी ने देवताओं की ऐसी करुण पुकार सुनकर अपना स्वरूप मोबाइल का बनाया और गोरखनाथ किया फिर वह तुरंत ही वहां जा पहुंचे जहां विष्णु निवास कर रहे थे वहां पहुंचकर उन्होंने ऐसा महाघोर शब्द किया कि उसे सुनकर वहां पूरा नगर कांप उठा यह देख विष्णु जी ने अत्यंत क्रोधित होकर अपने लड़कों को शिवजी से युद्ध करने की आज्ञा दी अपने पिता की आज्ञा पाकर सब हुए लड़के शिव जी के अवतार के समझ आए तो विश्वेश्वर अवतार ने अपने तिर्चना सिंह को द्वारा उन सबको मार डाला तब विष्णु जी ने अपने लड़कों की मृत्यु का समाचार सुनकर अत्यंत क्रोधित हो विश्वेश्वर का सामना किया तथा उसके ऊपर उत्तमता सहस्त्र चलाएं तब विष्णु ईश्वर ने कुपित हो भयानक शब्द कर अपने नाक तथा सिंगो द्वारा विष्णु जी को भी विक्कल कर दिया तब विष्णु जी ने अहंकार त्याग ब्रिज स्वरूप शिव जी को पहचान करुण स्वर में उसकी स्तुति करते हुए कहा है शिवजी आप मेरा अपराध क्षमा करें शिवजी विष्णु जी के ऐसे वचन सुनकर बोले हे विष्णु अब तुम सीख रही इन स्त्रियों को छोड़कर अपने लोग को चले जाओ और भविष्य में फिर कभी ऐसा मत करना यह सुनकर विष्णु जी ने अत्यंत लज्जित होकर कहा है प्रभु हमारा चक्र तो यहां पर रखा हुआ है शिवजी ने उत्तर दिया इस चक्र को यहीं रखा रहने दो हम तुम्हें ऐसा ही एक दूसरा चक्र देंगे आशुतोष शिव जी ने इस समय एक चक्र बनाकर विष्णु जी को दिया और कहा कि तुम इसी समय यहां से चले जाओ तब विष्णु जी ने शिव जी की आज्ञा पाकर देवताओं के पास अलग जाकर कहा है देवताओं यहां तो स्त्रियां अमित से उत्पन्न स्थित है वह सब से आनंद प्रदान करने वाले हैं जो इसे भोग करता है वही इनका स्वामी है या सुनकर देवताओं ने उन स्त्रियों के पास जाने की इच्छा की परंतु शिवजी ने उनकी यह इच्छा समझकर तुरंत ही श्राप दिया कि जो कोई उसे स्थान पर शांत मुनीश्वर तथा मध्य देवताओं का अतिरिक्त आवेग वह तुरंत मर जाए शिवजी कैसे वचन सुनकर सब देवता भयभीत हो अपने अपने घरों को चले गए फिर शिवजी विष्णु जी तथा अन्य सब देवता भी अपने लोगों को गए हैं नारद जो इस चरित्र को सुनेगा आठवा पाठ करेगा वह सदैव आनंद प्राप्त करेगा

Brahma Ji said, O Narada, now I tell you about the Vishweshwara incarnation of Shiva. Once the gods and the demons churned the ocean together and according to the plan of Vishnu Ji, they took out all the gems from the ocean. Vishnu Ji got Lakshmi, the stuvak brahmani and the royal bow, Surya got the high-flown horse, Indra got the Kalpavriksha and the Airavat elephant. People asked for it. Shiva got the Kalkut and the moon. After this, Dhanvantari came out with Amrit in his hand. The demons snatched that Amrit. The gods called Vishnu Ji. Then Vishnu Ji took the form of a woman and made the gods drink this Amrit with his Maya. Dhanvantari became very proficient in protecting the health of the people and in Vedic knowledge. The female gems were taken away by the demons along with their daughters and kept in the netherworld. Thereafter, they fought well with the gods, but the gods were defeated and all of them went to the netherworld and started living there. Then Vishnu Ji followed them and reached their people and seeing those women there, he got fascinated and stayed there after roaming with them. Thus there many sons of Vishnu ji were born. After growing up the children came out of the netherworld and started causing pain to all the gods etc. When on the insistence of the gods I took all the gods along with me and prayed to Lord Shiva and said, O Lord Vishnu ji has gone to the netherworld and has had sex with many women and has produced many sons. They have stayed there and have not returned to their families. All those sons of Vishnu ji have become very powerful and keep creating trouble everywhere. O Narada. On hearing such a sad cry of the gods, Shiva ji took the form of a mobile and became Gorakhnath. Then he immediately reached the place where Vishnu was living. On reaching there he made such a loud sound that on hearing it the whole city trembled. On seeing this Vishnu ji became very angry and ordered his sons to fight with Shiva ji. On getting the order of their father all the sons became incarnations of Shiva ji. Then Vishweshwar incarnation killed all of them with his Tirchana lion. Then Vishnu ji became very angry on hearing the news of the death of his sons and faced Vishweshwar and fired Uttamta Sahastra on him. Then Vishnu god became furious. By making a terrifying sound, he troubled Vishnu Ji with his nose and horns. Then Vishnu Ji, abandoning his ego, recognized Shiva Ji in the form of a bridge and praised him in a sad voice and said, Shiva Ji, please forgive my crime. Shiva Ji, on hearing such words of Vishnu Ji, said, O Vishnu, now you leave these women who are learning, go to your people and never do this again in future. On hearing this, Vishnu Ji felt very ashamed and said, Lord, our Chakra is kept here. Shiva Ji replied, keep this Chakra here, we will give you another similar Chakra. Ashutosh Shiva Ji made a Chakra at this time and gave it to Vishnu Ji and said, you go from here right now. Then Vishnu Ji, after getting the permission of Shiva Ji, went to the Gods separately and said, Gods, here women are born from the womb of Amit, they are the bestowers of pleasure, the one who enjoys them is their master. On hearing this, the Gods wished to go to those women, but Shiva Ji, understanding their wish, immediately cursed them that whoever kills her at that place, will die immediately. Shiva Ji On hearing these words all the gods became afraid and went to their respective homes. Then Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu and all other gods also went to their homes. Narad, whoever listens to this story and recites the eighth chapter will always be happy.
