ब्रह्मा जी बोले हे नारद अब मैं तुम्हें यज्ञ उतार के विषय में बताता हूं जिसने तुरंत ही सब देवताओं का मत दूर कर दिया था जब देवता तथा दैत्य्या समुद्र मंथन के समय परस्पर लड़े और उसमें दैत्य देवताओं से पराजित हो गए तब देवता अपने अहंकार में भरकर शिवजी को भूल स्वयं को पृथ्वी आकाश तथा पटल का स्वामी समझने लगे हुए सब एकत्र होकर गर्व की बात करने लगे सब देवता अहंकार में भरकर अपनी-अपनी वीरता का बखान करने लगे उसे समय शिव जी ने देवताओं का हिस्सा अहंकार देखकर एक विचित्र चरित्र किया अर्थात उन्होंने यज्ञ रूप से देवताओं के पास जाकर सबसे कुशल पूछी उन देवताओं में से कोई भी यहां ना जान सका की एक शिवजी है फिर शिवजी ने उनसे यह कहा तुम सब इस स्थान पर बैठे हुए क्या कर रहे हो मालूम होता है तुम सब अहंकार में भरे हुए हो यह सुनकर देवताओं ने उत्तर दिया कि क्या तुमने नहीं सुना कि यह देव सूर्य युद्ध हुआ था हमने उसे व्यक्तियों को मार कर विजय प्राप्त की है यह सुनकर यज्ञ स्वरूप शिवजी बोले हे विष्णु आदि देवताओं तुम ऐसे मत कहो तुमसे बाद भी और कोई है तुम इस प्रकार अहंकार की बात मत करो क्योंकि तुमसे भी बड़ा जो मनुष्य है वह सबसे बलवान तथा तेजस्वी है वह कुछ चाहता है वही करता है यदि तुमको इस बात का विश्वास ना हो तो तुम सब मिलकर उसे एक तिनके को काट कर दिखाओ इतना कहकर यज्ञ रूपी शिवजी ने एक दिन का देवताओं के ऊपर फेंक दिया तब सब देवताओं ने अपने अपने शस्त्र का प्रयोग का रोज दिन के पर किया परंतु वह टिका हिल तक नहीं अपने-अपने स्थान पर जैसा बैठा था वैसा ही पड़ा रहा यह देखकर इंद्र ने अत्यंत क्रोधित होकर अपना बाजार उसे दिन के पर चलाए परंतु वहां भी निष्फल रहा तदुपरांत विष्णु जी ने क्रोधित हो अपना अपना जागृति के पर मारा परंतु वह भी असफल रहा उसे समय सब देवता अत्यंत अर्जित हुए इतने में यह आकाशवाणी हुई की है देवता तुम अपने मन मे किसी बात का संयम मत करो तुम सब ने अहंकार के वशीभूत होकर अपने स्वामी को नहीं पहचाना उन्होंने तुम्हारा अहंकार दूर कर दिया फिर कभी ऐसा अहंकार मत करना तुम्हारे समूह किया जो खड़े हुए हैं हुए यज्ञ रूपी सदाशिव जी हैं हीनारथ इस प्रकार आकाशवाणी सुनकर सब देवता योगेश्वर महादेव के चरण पर गिर पड़े तथा अनेक प्रकार से प्रणाम करें अहंकार से मुक्त होता दो प्रांत उन सब ने यह निश्चय किया कि संसार में शिव जी के समान बलशाली और कोई नहीं है फिर सब देवता आदि शिवजी क की स्तुति करते हुए बोले ही सदाशिव हम सब आपकी शरण में हैं अब हमारा अहंकार दूर हो गया यह सुनकर शिव जी ने प्रसन्न होकर ओमकार का उच्चारण किया इसके पश्चात सब लोग अपने-अपने घर चले गए ही नारा दिया या योगेश्वर शिव जी का चरित्र अत्यंत पवित्र हिस्से पढ़ने तथा सुनने से अत्यंत सुख प्राप्त होता है आप मैं तुमको शिवजी के 10 महाकाल अवतार के विषय में बताता हूं ध्यानपूर्वक सुनो हे नारद शिव जी का पहला स्वरूप महाकाल है महाकाली इस अवतार की शक्ति है शिवजी का दूसरा अवतार नमक है जिसकी शक्ति का नाम तारा है तीसरा अवतार बाली है जिसकी शक्ति का नाम भुवनेश्वरी है चौथा बिंदेश्वर श्री अवतार जो 16 कलेश दूर करने वाली है उसकी शक्ति का नाम विद्या है पांचवा भैरव अवतार जिसकी शक्ति से भैरवी कहते हैं छतवान क्षेत्रक मस्तक अवतार जिसकी शक्ति का नाम छिद्रक माता है जो अत्यंत तेजस्वी है सातवां धूमावत अवतार जिसकी शक्ति को धूमावती कहते हैं आठवां बांग्ला मुख्य अवतार जिसका शक्ति का नाम बांग्ला मुखी है नया मातंग अवतार जिसकी शक्ति का मेटामिनी कहते हैं दसवां कमल अवतार इसके शक्ति को कमल कहते हैं इन दसों अवतार के पूजन तथा दसों शक्तियों की सेवा से सब मनोरथ सफल होते हैं इस प्रकार शिव जी के 57 अवतार पूर्ण हुए हैं

Hearing this, the gods replied, have you not heard that this Dev Surya war had taken place? We have won it by killing people. Hearing this, Shiv Ji, in the form of Yagya, said, O Vishnu and other gods, don't say like this. There is someone else after you. Don't talk with arrogance like this because the man who is greater than you is the strongest and most illustrious. He wants only that. If you don't believe this, then all of you together cut a straw and show it to him. Saying this, Shiv Ji in the form of a yagya threw a yagya on the gods. Then all the gods used their weapons but he didn't move at all. He remained lying in the same position as he was sitting. Seeing this, Indra got very angry and used his wings on him but that too was futile. Thereafter Vishnu Ji got angry and hit his wings of awakening but that too was unsuccessful. At that time all the gods were very amazed. Meanwhile, a voice from the sky said, O God, don't control your mind on anything. You all have been under the influence of ego and didn't recognize your master. He has dispelled your ego. Never again be so arrogant that your group which is standing here is Sadashiv Ji in the form of yagya. Hearing this voice from the sky, all the gods fell on the feet of Yogeshwar Mahadev and bowed down in many ways. Freed from ego, all of them decided that there is no one as powerful as Shiv Ji in the world. Then all the gods started praising Shiv Ji. While doing this he said, Sadashiv, we all are in your refuge, now our ego has been removed. Hearing this, Shiv Ji was pleased and uttered Omkar. After this, everyone went to their respective homes. He gave a slogan or the character of Yogeshwar Shiv Ji is very sacred. Reading and listening to this part gives immense happiness. I am telling you about the 10 Mahakal incarnations of Shiv Ji. Listen carefully, O Narad. The first form of Shiv Ji is Mahakal. Mahakali is the power of this incarnation. The second incarnation of Shiv Ji is Namak, whose power is named Tara. The third incarnation is Bali, whose power is named Bhuvaneshwari. The fourth Bindeshwar Shri incarnation, which removes 16 troubles, his power is called Vidya. The fifth Bhairav incarnation, whose power is called Bhairavi. The Chhatwan Kshetrak Mastak incarnation, whose power is called Chhidrak Mata, who is very radiant. The seventh Dhumavat incarnation, whose power is called Dhumavati. The eighth Bangla Mukhya incarnation, whose power is called Bangla Mukhi.
